The Janice Beanie


Good morning folks. Welcome to day 14. 2 weeks in now, can you believe it? It sure is going fast!
Have you been following long with the daily patterns?

Today's beanie is the Janice. Its such a sweet cute beanie. It reminds me of springtime, which we've just started here in Australia!

The Janice Beanie

Sized To Fit:
32-34 Weeks Gestation

Measurements:
8.5cm diameter crown at round 3
11.5cm total length
13.5cm across brim

You Will Need:
4mm hook
DK/Light Worsted/8ply/Weight 3 yarn in a main colour, and 2 contrasting colours for the flower.
I used King Cole Cotton Soft in Aqua and White and a random DK yellow.

1. dc 12 times in a magic ring, join. (12)

2. ch2, dc in the same stitch, 2dc in each stitch around, join. (24)

3. ch2, dc in the same stitch, *dc in the next stitch, 2dc in the next stitch*, repeat around, join. (36)

4. sc into the first stitch, ch3, 2dc into the same stitch, skip 2 stitches, *(sc, ch3, 2dc) in the next stitch, skip 2 stitches*, repeat around, join to the sc.

5. slst into the first ch3 space, (ch3, 2dc) in the ch3 space, 3dc in each remaining ch3 space around, join.

6. ch1, sc in the next stitch, (ch3, 2dc) in the same stitch, skip 2 stitches *(sc, ch3, 2dc) in the next stitch, skip 2 stitches*, repeat around, join to the sc.

7-10. Repeat rounds 5 and 6

End off and weave in tails.

Flower:

To make a picot ch3, slst into the 3rd chain from hook. 

With Yellow
1. sc 10 times in a magic ring, join. 
With White
2. *ch3, slst to the next stitch*, repeat around, making the last slst to the same stitch as the initial chain.
3. slst into the ch3 space, (sc, picot, sc) in the chain 3 space, repeat around, join.

End off leaving a long tail. Use the tail to sew to beanie.
