IBGHD 2019 Day 14 The Baby Lara Bonnet


Good morning all and welcome to day 14, the end of our second week! Today's pattern is a tri spike granny bonnet. I've used 3 colours, but you could easily use more, or less, or change the order of the colours, the choice is up to you.

Today's pattern is in remembrance of Baby Lara.

Sc - Single Crochet
Dc - Double Crochet
Hdc - Half Double Crochet

Instructions in * * should be repeated
Starting chain counts as first stitch, and in the end round stitch count.

Sized for: 36 Weeks Gestation

Finished Measurements:
16cm across the brim, 12cm from crown to brim, 21cm ties

Amount Of Yarn Used: 49 Meters/53 Yards/18g of 4Seasons Marvel 8Ply

Hook Size: 4mm

Yarn: DK/8Ply yarn in 3 colours, marked A, B and C

1: With A, into a magic ring ch3 and make 11dc, join to the ch3. -12dc

2: With B, ch3, dc in the same st, 2dc in all remaining sts around, join to the ch3. - 24dc

3: With C, ch3, dc in the same st, ch1, sk1, *2dc in the next st, ch1, sk1*, repeat around, join to the ch3. -24dc, 12ch

4: With A, Slst into the first ch1 space, ch3, 2dc in the same ch1 space, ch1, * 3dc, ch1* in each remaining ch1 space around, do not join. - 36dc, 12ch

5: With B, ch3, turn, * in the next ch1 space (dc, dc between the 2dc directly below the space, dc), ch1 *, repeat around, dc in the ch3 from the previous round.

6: With C, ch3, turn, dc into the 1st dc of the cluster below, dc into the same ch1 space, ch1, * in the next ch1 space, (dc, dc into the 2nd dc of the cluster below, dc), ch1*, repeat across, dc in the top of the ch3 from the row below.

7: With A, ch4, turn, *in the next ch1 space, (dc, dc into the 2nd dc of the cluster below, dc), ch1*, repeat across, dc into the top of the ch3 from the previous round.

8: With B, repeat row 6

9: With C, repeat row 7

10: With A, repeat row 6

11: With B, ch2, turn, hdc in each st and ch across

12: With C, repeat row 11

13: With B, repeat row 11.

End off and weave in all tails.

Ties and finishing: ch40, with the neckline facing up join to the right hand corner and ch1, sc evenly along the neckline to the left corner, ch40 to make the second tie. End off and weave in all tails.
