Striped Bonnet

Good evening lovlies,

Today's new pattern is for a beautiful little bonnet. This one is designed to fit 32 weeks gestation, but would be so easy to size up. Just use larger yarn/hooks or increase the starting chain. Can also be made in one solid colour if you chose to, or mix it right up and do one in rainbows of colours!

4ply (fingering) weight yarn in 2 colours.
3mm hook

With colour 1
1: ch66, sc in the 2nd chain from hook and each across - 65

2: ch1, turn, (sc, 3dc) in the first stitch, *skip 3 stitches, (sc, 3dc) in the next stitch* Repeat from * to * 14 more times (16 shells total), skip 3, sc in the last stitch.

3-6: ch1, turn, (sc, 3dc) in the first sc, *skip the next 3 dc's, (sc, 3dc) in the next sc* repeat across, sc in the last sc.

Change to colour 2

7-12:  ch1, turn, (sc, 3dc) in the first sc, *skip the next 3 dc's, (sc, 3dc) in the next sc* repeat across, sc in the last sc.

Change to Colour 1

13-16:  ch1, turn, (sc, 3dc) in the first sc, *skip the next 3 dc's, (sc, 3dc) in the next sc* repeat across, sc in the last sc.

Change to colour 2

17-18:  ch1, turn, (sc, 3dc) in the first sc, *skip the next 3 dc's, (sc, 3dc) in the next sc* repeat across, sc in the last sc.

Dont end off yet.

Place a stitch marker in the current stitch (or make the loop large) and leave for a minute.
Take the long thread from the start and sew up the back of the bonnet.

Pick up the last stitch again and chain 38. sc in the second chain from hook and each across, then sc evenly across the entire base of the bonnet. When you reach the other corner chain another 38 stitches, sc in the second chain from hook and each chain back to the bonnet. Sl st and end off. Weave in all tails.

Bonnet complete.
