New booties today. Actually, this pattern was kind of a happy mistake. I was aiming for a bonnet (trying to be a smarty and start with a closed back) but it turned into booties! It's name, comes from a random fantasy name generator, because I really REALLY struggle thinking of names. Ahh generators, so much fun.
You will need:
dk weight (8ply) yarn

End off and weave in ends.
add ties of ribbon or chained lengths of yarn. I sl st to the corner and ch18 on each side to have ties connected to the bootie
Thank you so much for this post. I want to let you know that I posted a link to your blog in Creative Busy Bee Craft Inspirations, under the Page 3 post on Sep. 26, 2012. Thanks again.
ReplyDeleteI am trying to adjust this pattern to work with very soft Bernat Softee Baby yarn, weight 3. I've been able to make the adjustments that I think will work. However I can't figure out the heel area. Row 7 ... when you finish the decreases and work around .... are you supposed to weave the two ends / sides together to make it closed? The pattern is adorable and very simple.

These booties are designed to have an open back so they are easier to put on preemie babies :) So no, they are not ment to be sewn closed. However if you are making them for a full term baby then you could do that.
DeleteThank you so much for your reply! I love how easy these are and they are darling !!!
