Watermelon Pouch

 Good morning!

Today's Pattern is such a fun little item, a small pouch! Great for many number of things. We keep dice in ours, but they would also be great to hold a few small tampons too.

This pattern uses beads, and for those of you familiar with them, this wont be a problem, but if you haven't used beads before you will need a bit of a lesson. Now I could type out a lengthy description on how to do this, but I think it would be easier to show you a video so, Here is a fantastic one by the Crochet Crowd.

The trick to getting these beads to look like seeds is to give them random placement. So! The instructions do not tell you when to add the beads, just place them where it feels right for you. I used 5 on this particular one, but they were rather largish beads, and had I used smaller ones I would have added some more.

Supplies:
DK 8ply yarn in pink, green and white
5mm crochet hook for pouch
3mm crochet hook for tie
black beads
Needle that will pass through the bead

Thread beads onto your pink yarn
1: ch2, hdc in the first ch 10 times, join.
2: ch2, 2hdc in each stitch around, join
3-4: ch2, hdc in each stitch around, join.
End pink yarn and join white
5-6: ch1, sc in each stitch around, join
End white yarn and join green
7: ch3, 2dc in each stitch around, join.
End off and weave in all loose ends.

Tie
ch70. Weave tie in and out of the stitches of round 6. Pull to gather and tie a bow.

Mini tampon wallet

Morning peeps!

Another sanitary wallet today. This one came about while trying to find ways to use up some variegated yarns. I LOVE the colours in them, but Im often unimpressed with how they crochet up and as a result have heaps of these barely used balls of variegated. Time to do something with them all!

This itty little wallet will hold 2 regular and 2 mini tampons and its super quick to work up.

You will need:
DK weight (8ply) yarn
3mm hook
1 button

ch12, sc in the second chain from hook and each across to the second last, in that do 2sc, on the opposite side of the chain stitches work sc's back across to the end, and one sc in the very last stitch, do not join.

We'll be working in rounds now, sc in each stitch around until your piece measures 6cm. Fold your pouch flat and mark off the middle 9 stitches on one long side. These will be your closing flap. sc till you get to the last of the 9 stitches you marked.

Ch1, turn, sc 9.
ch1, turn, sc 9
ch1, turn, sc2tg, sc in the next 5, sc2tg
ch1, turn, sc 7
ch1, turn, sc in the first 3 stitches, ch2 (or ch3 if you are using a larger button), sc in the last 3 stitches.

Finish off, weave in all ends. Add the button and your done!

Sanitary Wallet

Hello again beautiful people.

I have another sanitary wallet for you today. Still a few more to come, but I think now Ive covered this area pretty successfully. If you have any requests for more, by all means shoot me an email at myshellecole@gmail.com and Ill do my best!

Today's wallet is super easy back and forth stitches and great for using up off bits of yarn.

You will need
DK (8ply) weight yarn. For the sake of the pattern lets call my red colour A, light blue colour B and dark blue colour C
3mm hook
1 button
Needle for sewing.

Starting with colour A

chain 36

1: hdc in the second chain from hook and each across
2: ch2, turn, hdc across.

change to colour B
3-4: ch2, turn, hdc across

change to colour C
5-6: ch2, turn, hdc across

change to colour B
7-8: ch2, turn, hdc across

change to colour A
9-10: ch2, turn, hdc across

ch2, turn so the next row will be across the ends of the stripes. This neatens the edge and creates a button hole.

hdc evenly across the first 2 stripes, ch1 (or 2 if your button is large) and skip the middle stripe, hdc evenly across the last 2 stripes.

Fold the wallet as shown below and sew up the sides.

Attach button and your done!

Tampon Bag V3

Good morning lovlies!

Today I have a neat little bag for tampon storage (or for anything else). Something a bit different from the wallets. This little bag features a drawstring and a knit look stitch, and depending on your hook size can hold from 4-8 tampons. I used Carefree.

You will need
3mm hook (4mm hook for medium sized bag, 5mm for large)
DK (8ply) weight yarn in main colour and a small amount of contrasting colour.

R1: ch3, 14dc in the 1st chain, join
R2: ch2, 2hdc in each stitch around, join.
R3: ch1, hdc blo around

R4+: hdc in the 3rd loop (the back back loop) of each stitch around, this pushes the front two loops forward and creates a knit look. Do not join, just continue around until the piece measures 5-6cm long. sl st in the next stitch.

R5: ch2, dc in each stitch around, join.
R6: Repeat R5

End off, weave in all ends.

In a contrasting colour chain 70. Weave the tie in and out of every second stitch on R5.

change colour
R3: sl st in any ch3 space and sc, *ch4, hdc3tg, ch4, sc in the next ch3 space* repeat around ending with a sl st to the first sc.

Finish off weaving in all ends.

With main colour and a 4mm hook:
ch21
R1: hdc in the 2nd chain from hook and each across to the second last ch, 2hdc in the last chain, then on the opposite side, working in the same chains, hdc in each ch back to the start, join.
R2-8: ch2, hdc around, join. (40)
R9: ch2, *hdc in the next 3 stitches, hdc2tg* Repeat around.
R10: ch2, hdc in each stitch around, join
R11: ch2, *hdc in the next 3 stitches, hdc2tg* Repeat around, join

Position the doily flap over the top opening so that the centre of the circle is over the centre of the opening. Sew the back side of the flap to the wallet. Leave the other side free. Attach button and your done!
