3. Anne Preemie Beanie Upsized

Today's beanie is the first up-size for this years drive. This is actually the previously released Anne Beanie, but significantly larger, which has been much requested by you guys! Enjoy <3






The Anne Beanie - Upsized

You Will Need:
DK weight/8ply Yarn
4.5mm hook for full term
4.0mm for 38 weeks

Sized To Fit
38 Weeks Gestation
40 Weeks (Full term newborn)

For all sizes
1. Into a magic ring dc 12 times, join to the first dc. -12dc

2. Ch3, dc in the same stitch, 2dc in each stitch around, join to the ch3. -24dc

3: Ch3, dc in the same stitch, dc in the next stitch, *2dc in the next stitch, dc in the next stitch*, repeat around, join to the ch3. -36dc

4: Ch3, dc in the same stitch, dc in the next 2 stitches, *2dc in the next stitch, dc in the next 2 stitches*, repeat around, join to the ch3. -48dc

5. Ch5 (counts as dc and ch2), 2dc in the same stitch, ch1, skip 2 stitches, sc in the next stitch, *ch1, skip 2 stitches, (dc, ch2, 2dc) in the next stitch, ch1, skip 2 stitches, sc in the next stitch* repeat around, ending with a ch1 and join with a slst to the 3rd chain of the starting ch5.

6. Ch1, sc in the first ch2 space (between the dc's), ch1, (dc, ch2, 2dc) in the next sc, *ch1, sc in the next ch2 space, ch1, (dc, ch2, 2dc) in the next sc*, repeat around, ending with a ch1. Join to the first sc.

7. Ch5, dc in the same stitch, ch1, sc in the next ch2 space, *ch1, (dc, ch2, 2dc) in the next sc, ch1, sc in the next ch2 space*, repeat around, ending with a ch1, join to the 3rd chain of the starting ch5.

8-11. Repeat round 6-7

For 38 weeks, stop here and end off, weave in tails.

For 40 Weeks

12-13: Repeat rounds 6-7

End off, weave in tails.



Alternative Colour Options

Change colour for the last 2 rounds to create a contrasting brim.

Change colours on rounds 6, 8, 10 and 12 to create a striped pattern.

2. Ammie Beanie



Good morning beautiful people! Day 2, hat 2! Have you started yet?

Today's beanie, the Ammie, is a sweet little hat that features a dainty sc cluster. This is a very easy stitch to learn, and it looks so pretty in contrasting colours. There are plenty of striping options as well to really personalise this beanie.




The Ammie Beanie

You Will Need:
4mm hook
DK weight/8ply yarn in a main and contrasting colour.

Sized To Fit:
28-30 Weeks Gestation

Special Stitches: SC Cluster
Draw up a loop in each of next 3 stitches, yarn over and draw through all 4 loops on hook.

1: Into a magic ring ch1, hdc 8 times, join to the first hdc. - 8hdc

2: Ch2, hdc in the same stitch, 2hdc in each stitch around, join to the ch2. - 16hdc

3: Ch2, hdc in the same stitch, hdc in the next stitch, *2hdc in the next stitch, hdc in the next stitch*, repeat around, join to the ch2. - 24hdc

4: Ch2, hdc in the same stitch, hdc in the next 2 stitches, *2hdc in the next stitch, hdc in the next 2 stitches*, repeat around, join to the ch2. - 32hdc

5: Ch2, hdc in the same stitch, hdc in the next 3 stitches, *2hdc in the next stitch, hdc in the next 3 stitches*, repeat around, join to the ch2 - 40hdc

6: Ch1, SC Cluster starting with the same stitch as the chain, ch1, *sc cluster starting in the last stitch of the previous cluster, ch1*, repeat around, the last stitch will be made in the previous clusters last stitch, the next stitch, and the joining stitch from the previous round, join to the first sc cluster. -20 clusters

Change colours

7: Ch1, SC Cluster starting with the same stitch as the chain, ch1, *sc cluster starting in the last stitch of the previous cluster, ch1*, repeat around, the last SC cluster will be made in the previous clusters last stitch, the next stitch, and the joining stitch from the previous round, join to the first sc cluster.

Note: Ch1's from previous round count as stitches and should be worked into when making SC Clusters.

8-12: Repeat round 7 for the next 5 rounds, changing colour every round.

13: ch1, sc in each stitch and chain around. join to the ch1.


End off and weave in tails.

Alternative Looks

Only change the colours on rounds 6, 9 and 12.
