7. Basic Newborn HDC Beanie
Good morning beautiful people and helloooo day 7! Wow first week down already, that sure went fast!
To end this weeks round of hats, I thought we'd kiss! Keep it simple silly! This is a basic, full term hdc beanie. It makes a fantastic base for any number of ideas.
It's great for adding applique to, put on some ribbon, do stripes or colour blocking or just brim it in a contrasting colour. Or, like one of my alternate examples, you can go crazy and use a new colour for each round! YAY for rainbow beanies right??! A good basic beanie is one all crocheters need in their collection!!!
Basic HDC Beanie
You Will Need:
4.5mm hook
DK weight yarn
Sized To Fit:
40 Weeks, Full Term Newborn
1: Into a magic ring, ch1, hdc 9 times, join to the first hdc. -9hdc
2: Ch2, hdc into the same stitch, 2hdc in each stitch around, join to the ch2. - 18hdc
3: Ch2, hdc in the same stitch, *hdc in the next stitch, 2hdc in the next stitch*, repeat around, join to the ch2. - 27
4: Ch2, hdc in the same stitch, *hdc in the next 2 stitches, 2hdc in the next stitch*, repeat around, join to the ch2. -36
5: Ch2, hdc in the same stitch, *hdc in the next 3 stitches, 2hdc in the next stitch*, repeat around, join to the ch2. -45
6-15: Ch2, hdc in each stitch around, join.
16: Ch1, sc in each stitch around, join.
