Today's bonnet is modeled on yesterday's beanie! That's right, same design, different outcome. All of my personal releases this year come in pairs, a beanie, and a matching bonnet!
Today's pattern is named in remembrance of Sheyenne Kindalen Plackett
The Sheyenne Kindalen Plackett Bonnet
Key:
St - Stitch
Ch - Chain
Sc - Single Crochet
Dc - Double Crochet
Hdc - Half Double Crochet
Instructions in * * should be repeated
Starting chain counts as first stitch, and in the end round stitch count.
Yarn: Sized for: 40 Weeks Gestation
Finished Measurements: Approx. 11.5cm from crown to brim, 16cm from top to bottom at the widest area, 17cm un-stretched ties.
Amount Of Yarn Used: 38 Meters/41 Yards/14g of 4Seasons Marvel 8ply
Hook Size: 4mm
Yarn: DK/8Ply Main Colour for the hat body and Contrasting Colour for the flower and stripes.
With contrasting colour
1: Into a magic ring ch3, 11 dc's, join to ch3. -12
2: ch3, dc in the same space, 2dc in each st around, join to the ch3. -24
3: ch3, 3dc into the same st, sk1, slst in the next, sk1 * 4dc in the next st, sk1, slst in the next , sk1 *, repeat around, join to the ch3. - 6 shells
With main colour
All stitches on this round only are made in blo.
4: ch1, sc 3, 2hdc in the slst, * sc 4, 2hdc in the slst *, repeat around, join to the ch1.
5: ch3, dc 2, 2dc in the next st, * dc 3, 2dc in the next st*, repeat around, jdo not join.
6-7: ch3, turn, dc in each st across.
In contrasting colour
8: ch2, turn, hdc in each st across
In main colour
9: ch3, turn, dc in each st across
10-11: Repeat rows 8 and 9.
End off.
With your main colour ch35, holding the bonnet with the neck opening facing up, join to right corner and ch2, hdc evenly along the neck line of the bonnet until you reach the left side corner, then ch35 for the second tie. End off and weave in all tails.
