Barbie Outfit - Movie Night Dress

According to my girls, Barbie was going to see a movie with Ken and needed something new to wear. So mamma makes a Movie Night dress, with a matching bag! This is my first non rubber band dress so Im hoping it works out ok. As always, its not tested and wrote as I stitched, don't be too worried if your a stitch or two out. Remember, linkbacks and credit where credit is due thanks! Would love to see some more projects on Rav too!

Movie Night Dress

Ravelry Page Here

You will need
4.00mm hook
2 small buttons
dk weight yarn in 2 colours, I've used blue and black.

ch20
hdc in 2nd ch from hook and each across
ch2, turn, hdc in each st across
h2, turn, 2hdc in the first hdc, hdc across, 2hdc in last hdc
ch2, turn, hdc in each st across
repeat
ch1, turn, sl st in 5 sts, sk1, 5hdc in the next, sk1, sl st to next, sl st, sk1, 5hdc in next, sk1, sl st in each to end

You will notice the 2 shells are off center, this is to allow for overlap at the back for closure.

Join black to the first ch row, ch2 and hdc in each ch across. When you get to the end, sl st to the ch2 so your piece is now worked in the round

ch2, hdc in each st around, join
ch3, *dc, 2dc in the next* Repeat around, join
repeat
sk1, 5dc in the next, sk1, sl st
Weave in ends.

Attach button firmly to the back of the dress to close it.

Bag

ch8
hdc in 2nd ch from hook and nin each across till the last, 3hdc in the last, then continuing on the other side hdc in each st until you come to the last st, 2hdc in the last, join.

Leaving long ends, ch28 for a strap
