Today I have another headband pattern for you (in fact I have a bunch, so Ill have a few days of them for you) Ive been working on a bunch of fun ones for the charity craft challenge. Most of these will be tiebacks so they fit the girl that gets them, and are really easy to adjust sizing.
You will need:
4mm hook
DK weight yarn
1. Chain length needed to fit from behind one ear to the other. (I used 62 for a band to fit my 10yr old.)
2. sc in the 2nd ch from hook and each ch across until the last ch. In the last ch do 3 sc’s.
Do not turn, instead swing your work so you are working on the opposite side of the stitches you just made, into the same chains. sc in each stitch to second last chain, and 3 sc’s in the very last. Join with a sl st to the first sc.
3. This round and all remaining rounds are all stitched in the back loops only: Mark off the first 8 and last 8 stitches at both ends.
*sl st in the first 8 stitches, sc across to the marker for the last 8 and then sl st in the last 8 stitches. sl st in the end 3 stitches* Repeat for the opposite side. Join to the first sl st.
4. *sl st in the first 8 stitches, hdc in each st around to the last 8, sl st in the last 8. sl st into the first 2 end stitches, chain 40, sl st back into the same stitch (will be the middle of your 3 end stitches), sl st in the remaining end stitch* Repeat for the opposite side.
Finish off and weave in all ends.
