Today's post is another new thing for me. Crocheted earrings! I've seen some of these on my friends and they look so wonderful and dainty and pretty. I knew at some point I needed to design some. I love that they look WOW but are really easy to make, which means you can whip up a bunch of colours to suit all sorts of outfits in no time at all. I'll be making a bunch for Angels for the forgotten.
1.5mm hook
Embroidery thread (2 strands, makes the larger earring) OR crochet cotton ( size 8 pearl cotton makes the smaller one)

Picot: ch3, slst into the first ch, picot made.

2. Ch 6 (counts as first trc and ch2), *trc, ch2* into the loop 7 times, join to the 4th chain. (8 trc's total)
3. Sl st into the ch2 space, ch2 (first hdc), hdc 3 times in the ch2 space, ch2, *hdc 4 times in the next ch2 space, ch2* repeat around, join. (32hdc)
4. *Ch5, slst in the next ch2 space*, repeat around, ending with a slst in the last ch2. End off colour.
5. Join contrasting yarn with a slst to any ch5 space, (sc4, picot, sc4, sl st) in the same ch5 space, (sl st, sc4, picot, sc4, sl st) in each remaining ch5 space. Join with a slst to the start. (total of 8 picots)
To construct earrings: Connect the jump-ring to the earring hook, then connect the jump-ring to a picot on the earring.
