I had hoped to have this up earlier in the day, but well. It was a royal pain in the behind to edit, merge and then upload. All 6.9GIG of it :O
Anyway, this is indeed my very first vid tut for a cute mini tophat, crocheted. I hope you all enjoy it. Ill add a typed version to Ravelry tomorrow so you can download it, and add project pages, because I just love seeing what everyone creates. I'm pretty proud of this, both the pattern and the tutorial. So many possibilities with them too!
Hmm . I am not sure how to insert a video here, so we'll suffice with a photo and a link!

UPDATE: 19th Feb 2012
Here is the written pattern. I am sorry it took so long, I was just disheartened because someone decided to write it down exactly and profit from the pattern as their own on another site. Shame on you.
joins at the end are done into the chain that started the row.

joins at the end are done into the chain that started the row.
To start : chain 4 and join to form a ring.
Row 1 : chain 3, then work 10 dc's into the ring.
Row 2: ch3, dc in same spot. 2dc in each st around, join
Row 3: ch3, dc in same st. *dc, dc, 2dc same* repeat round, join
Row 4: ch3, dc in each dc round, BACK LOOP ONLY, join
Row 5:-6: dc in each st around, join
Row 7: ch3, dc2tg, *4dc, dc2tg* around, join
Row 8: ch3, dc in each st around, join
Row 9: ch2, 2hd into the front loop of each st around
Row 10: ch2, hdc same, hdc 2 times *2hdc same, hdc, hdc* repeat around, join. Finish off, weave in ends.
Ive decorated these in many ways, bows and ribbons, flowers, chains, go nuts with them. Please tho, do share a picture on Ravelry, I love seeing how people make things!
HI there! Have you posted the written pattern, yet. I can't seem to find it. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI have been looking as well.. Can't seem to find it :(
ReplyDeleteThat's just rude when someone does that! I'm sorry someone copied your pattern. :(
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately it happens more then you would think. People will grab whatever they can to make a quick buck. Oh well, I think mine comes out looking nicer anyway.
DeleteWhat size is this pattern for? Thanks :)
ReplyDeleteUh, mini lol. Its about ohhh 4.5 to 5 inches tall.
DeleteThank you for sharing YOUR pattern for this darling hat! I hate that discouraged feeling after someone snitches your idea and takes all the credit. :( It's like a punch to the gut.
ReplyDeleteThis may be a silly question, but what is Joij? Repeat around, joij. Can you spell this one out for me please?
ReplyDeleteOh shoot, You just found a typo! Its *Join*
DeleteThanks for picking that up, Ill go edit :)
I love these! My friend is a photographer and we trade hobbies...she photographs my children and I crochet her probs and things for her son! These will be great...and don't worry, I will give you full credit for the pattern!
ReplyDeleteI made it with all SC instead of DC's, with crochet thread, and it is super duper tiny!!!! Perfect for a small amigurumi!! :-)
ReplyDeleteAh! I am currently trying to do this for a bobby pin and was frustrated how it was looking, I'll try sc! Thanks!
