29. Lynli Preemie Bonnet

Good morning all and hello to day 29!

Wow, we are almost at the end of the month now. That's incredible! I hope everyone has been enjoying the patterns thus far!

Today's pattern, the Lynli bonnet is a sweet little one that makes use of stacked shells and V stitches. When I get a chance, I think Ill go back and add a nice big crochet flower to the side of one of these.

27. Hayden Newborn Beanie

Good morning lovelies and welcome to day 27!
Ohh I actually love the number 27! It's my birthday number (of course, that's back in May, but still!) I also LOVE today's pattern!

The Hayden Beanie, is a little unique, in that it's made bottom up! That's right, we make the band first. Now, I know that sometimes counting rows, especially lots of them, can be a right pain, but I use this handy page to keep track! Row Counter is an awesome and simple site, just input your number of rows needed and off you go! So much easier to keep track!

You Will Need:
DK Weight/8ply Yarn
4mm hook

Sized To Fit:
Newborn/Full Term 40 weeks.

Band:

1: Ch9, sc in the second chain from hook and each across - 8sc
2: Ch1, turn, sc in each stitch across using back loops only. - 8sc
3-49: Repeat row 2.

End off, leaving a long tail. Sew the back together at the ends, being careful not to twist.
The join will be the back of the beanie

1: Attach yarn to one of the edge stitches of the band and ch1, sc in the end rows of the band for 52sc, then join to the first sc

20. Brittany Newborn Beanie

Good Morning all and welcome to day 20! Gosh, only 10 days left!

Today's pattern is something a little different. The Brittany beanie features zigzag puffs!!!
Now, given how puffy the puffs are, this beanie is quite large, and probably the largest one in the collection this year. It will easily fit a 9-10lb baby. But, thats ok! Because as we know, sadly angels come in all sizes, and some wonderful charities out there also provide hats to babbas that are a bit older. Im glad to have something to offer for this size range.

Having said that, if you want to make this one smaller, I would suggest dropping to a 4mm hook AND leaving out round 5 increases. Puffs need to be kept tight, so if your having tension problems, you could downsize your hook for those rounds too.

The Brittany Beanie

7 loop Puff Stitch: *Yarn over, insert hook into stitch, yarn over, pull through*, repeat twice more. There will be 7 loops on your hook. Yarn over, pull through all 7 loops

16. Robby Preemie Beanie

Good morning all and welcome to day 16.

Today's pattern is something a little unique that I haven't done a lot of pattern wise. Using negative space to create a visual pattern. I love how the skipped stitches in the Robby beanie give the illusion of little arches in the hat. Now, I know the pattern looks like a wall of text, but trust me, it's pretty simple! The repeats are very easy to remember, promise! I made sure to write the steps out without shorthand, so even those new to crochet can complete this one :)

Morning all and hello to day 15, our halfway mark! Today's beanie is very similar to the 18-19 weeker beanie from day 9. In fact, the Posy only has a couple of changes, to change the measurement size! It is, like the other, a great beanie for adding small embellishments and is the perfect place for someone who's only just learning to start.

14. Skyla Beanie

Good morning all and a big hey to day 14!

Today's hat release is the Skyla beanie. Sized for a larger newborn (9-10lb) this hat is an absolute gem. It makes great use of colour to create a combination of wavy and straight lines. Also excellent for using up small pieces of yarn!

If you want to make this one smaller, go ahead and drop to a 3.5mm hook, or drop off one increase round. That will make it closer to 38 weeks, or a 5-6lb newborn.

This beanie is a little more challenging, and uses both triple crochets and double triples. But I've wrote out how to do these stitches for you, and once you have the swing of it, they are pretty easy.

11. Ruth Preemie Beanie

Hello all and welcome to day 11.

Today's release is a sweet little hat that features front post stitches and shells. Combine together it adds great texture! The Ruth beanie will fit 30 weeks gestation and while I've only made solid ones so far, I'm sure would look just as great with alternating colours or even with just the last round in a contrasting colour.

10. Sadie Preemie Bonnet

Good morning lovelies and welcome to day 10! We've hit double digits now, how exciting!
How are you coming along with the hats so far? On target to reach your goals? I am!

Today's pattern is the first bonnet for the year, and boy is it a pretty one. The stitches in this bonnet remind me a little of leaves. It looks complicated, but I promise it isn't, just take it slow if your new to decreases and you'll do great. Also, it's worth noting to take care when counting the skip 3 on row 5, don't count the stitch you worked the sc into.

I do love bonnets so much! They are just adorable. They also have the advantage of being able to fit a larger size range, which is always handy.

I havn't tested this at a larger size yet, but I suspect that if you add one more increase round, and an extra repeat of rows 6-7 you should get newborn size. I'll come back and update when I have time to try it.

9. Basic MicroPrem Beanie

Good morning lovelies and welcome day 9!

Today I thought we'd go back to basics, and do something quick and easy. These little basic dc beanies are the easiest beanie you'll ever make. They have just one increase round, and only 6 rounds total, making them a great place for beginners to start.

Once you've mastered the basic beanie, you can shake it up so many ways! Alternate colours on each round. Alternate colours every second round. Use 3 colours and create an ombre! You could use a contrasting colour on the last round to make a more defined brim, or even put a picot edge on there!

These hats are also an excellent way to use up buttons! If you're anything like me, you have a stash of miss-matched buttons in the craft cupboard! I have a bunch, mostly vintage from my nanna, and I like to add a contrasting one to these small hats. Cute as a button! Oh yes, pun intended! Little bows, ribbons and flowers can also be used to decorate.

These are also a great hat to make on commutes, as they take up barely any space in your bag or even your pocket, and you can make oodles from a 50g ball of yarn.

1: Into a magic ring dc 10 times, join to the first dc. -10dc
2: Ch3, dc in the same stitch, 2dc in each stitch around, join to the ch3. -20dc
3-6: Ch3, dc in each stitch around, join to the ch3. -20dc

End off, weaving in all tails. Attach button to the front side of the beanie.

8. Brook Preemie Beanie

Good morning lovelies! Well, today is day 8, and that means the start of week 2 for the Itty Bitty GIANT Hat Drive!!!  Wow we sure are powering through the month hey?

Today's hat is a sweet little quick crochet, that features a sweet little shell stitch, that's created by turning at the end of each round. Lovely as a solid or striped! An important thing to note with this pattern, is that because we're using stripes and turning the direction each round, to make sure your yarn is always on the wrong side when changing colours, if you change them without cutting and rejoining each round.

5:  Ch3, dc in the same stitch, dc in the next 3 stitches *2dc in the next stitch, dc in the next 3 stitches*, repeat around, join to the ch3. -45dc

Change colours

6: Ch3, 2dc in the same stitch, 2dc in the next stitch, sk2, sc in the next stitch, *2dc in the next stitch, 2dc in the next stitch, sk2, sc in the next stitch*, repeat around, join to the first dc.

From here on, alternate colours every round.

7: Ch3, turn, 2dc in the same stitch, 2dc in the next stitch (pay attention not to do these 2 stitches in the joining space, they should be in the last sc from the previous round), sk2, sc in the next stitch, *2dc in the next stitch, 2dc in the next stitch, sk2, sc in the next stitch*, repeat around, join to the first dc.

8-11 Repeat round 7

12. Ch1, sc in each stitch around, join to the first sc.

End off, weaving in all tails.

5. Peanut Preemie Beanie

Morning beautiful lovelies and hello to day 5! Wow this week sure is powering through quickly! How are you going so far? I'm just weaving in ends of a bunch of these Peanut beanies today! Oh so cute and simple.

The contrasting front and back post brim creates just enough texture without it being too overwhelming, and the colour combinations are endless! You could also try this one with contrasting stripes, or perhaps even an ombre.

Good evening beautiful people!

Wow talk about drama trying to get this pattern up! The card reader in my PC decided it would be a great time to not read cards! I had to get Mr Mamma to open it up and sort it out for me. Thankfully, so far so good. Fingers crossed we have no further issues. I guess when you use a computer daily it's bound to have some issues eventually, especially after 2 years!

So without further ado, here is the Violet gown! Lovely ripples paired with picots make this dress an absolute stunner. I love that it is soft and delicate but also packs a little more UMPH in the visuals. It's a very quick dress too with easy repetitions. Sized as it it'll fir 26-28 Weeks gestation and is fully open at the back. I hope you love making this one as much as I did!
