The Cassandra Bonnet



Good morning all and welcome to day 23. Woah only one week left now, that sure has gone fast! I hope everyone that's joining in with the #ittybitygianthatdrive is doing well. Have you remembered to grab the posting form from the Itty Website?

Today's hat is the Cassandra Bonnet, and will fit 24-26 weeks gestation. Its an easy repeat and the shell stitch is just lovely.

The Cassandra Bonnet

Sized To Fit:
24-26 weeks gestation

Measurements:
8cm diameter after round 3
10cm total width from crown to brim
13cm total height across brim

You Will Need:
3.75mm hook
DK/Light Worsted/8ply Yarn

1. dc 12 times into a magic ring, join. (12)

2. ch2, dc into the same stitch, 2dc in each stitch around, join. (24)

3. ch2, dc in the same stitch, *dc in the next stitch, 2dc in the next stitch*, repeat around, do not join. (36)

4. ch1, turn, sc into the same stitch, skip 2 stitches, (dc, ch2, dc, ch2, dc) into the next stitch, skip 2 stitches, sc in the next stitch, *skip 2 stitches, (dc, ch2, dc, ch2, dc) into the next stitch, skip 2 stitches, sc into the next stitch* repeat around. ending with a sc into the last stitch(turning chain)

5. ch5, turn, dc into the first sc, skip the next dc, sc into the next dc, *skip the next dc, (dc, ch2, dc, ch2, dc) into the next sc, skip the next dc, sc into the next dc*, repeat around, (dc, ch2, dc) into the last sc.

6. ch1, turn, sc in the same stitch, *(dc, ch2, dc, ch2, dc) into the next sc, skip 1 dc, sc in the next dc*, repeat around, ending with a sc in the 3rd chain of  the turning chain.

7-9. Repeat rounds 5, 6 and 5.

10. Do not turn, ch1, sc around the base of the bonnet to the next corner, then sc in each stitch and chain across the front of the bonnet (round 9), join to ch1 start, chain 22 for the first tie, End off.

Join yarn to the other corner and ch22 for the second tie.
